I’m deleting this blog….

Boohoo.  I do want to still do some type of product info exchange, but having two blogs under the one is a PIA.  AND l haven’t posted shit in awhile.  I may do a stand alone blog, but I am lame, but you knew that already!

So thank you lovelies for following and sharing.  XOXOXOXO

For eyeliner - I usually use black eyeshadow and an angled brush. I can apply it as heavy or light as I want, and I have a lot of control over it that way as well. I've never had a problem with raccoon eyes either. Another plus is I can use a different color depending on my mood. I am limited only by my eyeshadow collection.

Thank you!  I just tried this not too long ago, but more as a shadow, and I really liked the way it came out.  I need more practice, and a thinner brush!

Eyeliner

Submission from Jillian.  I have to try this, have you seen her eyes? I have, in person, gorgeous!

Makeup Forever, Aqua Eyes is the greatest eyeliner in the entire world.  It’s about 22 bucks, and will stay on you all day/night/next morning without a single smudge! And it’s waterproof!

What suggestions do you product whores have for eyeliner that won't make me look like a raccoon after a few hours? I don't wear a lot of makeup, but I do like eyeliner and can't bring myself to pay more than a couple of bucks for a product that I don't have references for. Help? Sincerly, The Raccoon

Dear lovely raccoon,

I have a similar issue and am currently trying a few out that I will write about.  Liquid is probably your best bet, BUT it is a bit time consuming/PIA to apply and may give you a more made-up look than you want for every day.

I am on this and will report back soon.

Do you have this problem too?  What do you use??

A while back you suggested not using anything with mineral oil because it clogs pores, but one of your latest posts recommends Pond's Cold Cream, and mineral oil is one of the first (if not THE first) ingredient. Just thought I would let you know.

Thank you, I appreciate the feedback.  This is an opinion blog and any beauty product or info we share here automatically has a disclaimer, that “this is what works for me, I can’t say if it will work for you”

But I should have mentioned on the Pond’s post that I don’t wear makeup everyday.  I use the Pond’s once a week or so, and it doesn’t make me break out.  BUT if you are using the product (or any with petrolatum or mineral oil) and breaking out then perhaps you should try taking a break and see if that helps.

Beauty basics.

Our non glamorous, go tos.

I only discovered this a few years ago (thanks Lisa!), but I think my favorite go to product is Ponds Cold Cream.  It takes your makeup right off and is easy on your skin.  Some people may not like that it leaves your skin a little greasy, but I use it before bed, so I don’t mind at all.

It would be nice not to have to use this, but Oxy spot treatment is great for zits, dries them out quickly (be careful and don’t over apply, and keep it just to the spot and not the surrounding area).

Cotton rounds, for the Ponds, and they are much better at taking nail polish off than cotton balls.

What are yours??

Eye cream

Now we’re talking!

It seems to me that you fall into two categories with this, either you have dark circles or you don’t.  And then it’s if you’re 35+ or under.

Personally I think someone in their 20s/early 30s without dark circles can pretty much use anything.  There are not many creams that claim to deal with dark circles.  Nothing can really get rid of them, it’s genetics, sleep, etc. etc., but they can be reduced.

Eye creme can be very expensive and frustrating, I feel if I pay $50 for something, that it should do what it says it is supposed to.  But in the world of skin care, all the money you pay is just a gamble.

For me (40+, dark circles, but not terribly dark) what has been helping is Origins Plantscription.  I use a lot of their products, and this is my new favorite (I have been using it for about a month).  I definitely have noticed an improved appearance, I couldn’t believe it, I was very happily surprised.

For a while I used Clinique All About Eyes it didn’t help with the dark circles much, but as an eye cream I thought it was quite good.

Those are my personal recommendations.  If you buy Origins online, you get free shipping and two free samples.  If you are close to an Origins counter, you can get samples as well.  Try to talk them into giving you a deluxe sample (about 2 weeks worth), then you can really judge.  The teeny tiny one use samples are pretty useless.

And if you are trying to cover your under eye circles with makeup you need to use a lighter color.  Do not use your foundation as under eye concealer, it will only make them look darker.  I have been using Lorac Concealer, in #2 which is a little yellow.  It is worth a trip to Sephora to try them out.  It makes a big difference, I promise.

What are you using for eye cream or under eye concealer?

Curly Girls

Thank you Kindasavvy for the submission!

Ouidad is AMAZING. I suggest the Climate Control gel. It’s pricey, but worth it. And look! You get a free conditioner today and tomorrow.

Mascara Sale Alert!

I went to check out the mascaras at drugstore.com and they have Maybelline and Loreal at buy one get one at 50% off.  It’s a good time to try!

(It’s all their products it seems, but I am sticking to mascara on this mission)

Mascara Feedback

Yay, responses!  Thank you ladies!

You know I will be purchasing some (if not all) of these very soon.  If you try any yourself please share your review.

A special thank you to Missambiguous for her help. XO
